Xmas themes involving a rooster and a potion bottle

Romance isn’t my usual genre, but every now and then I experience a hankering for it. Last month I just needed something sweet and short. During the Fantasy Romance February event, I picked up exactly that in Bewitch You a Merry Christmas by Juliette Cross.

At the time, I hadn’t realised the story was a short or that it was from an anthology from the author. All I knew was that the story was set during Christmas, the story featured established characters from a series I’d never heard of. I was prepared to give it a go, and it was like a mini miracle, because it was a short story.

All Evie Savoie wants is time with her werewolf boyfriend, but Christmas shenanigans abounds. She needs to break a curse and help her family set up for the twins’ birthday party. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t all that invested in Evie getting that time with her boyfriend.

I was, however, extremely invested in the cursed man, the witch that cursed him, and their attraction to one another. I’m a little sad there wasn’t more of them, but obviously that’s not really what the story was about. It was a brief obstacle to be surmounted so Evie could mount her man at which she is eventually successful.

Yeah, I don’t know why I worded it like that either, but I’m leaving it.

The point is that it’s a cute and easy read set around Christmas with a little spice. If that’s something that interests you, you can find the story, and others, in Walking in a Witchy Wonderland by Juliette Cross.
