Demon Wrangling and Interpersonal Relationships Between Weary Immortals by Rebecca Crunden packs so much into this short story.

It’s a love story between a witch, Demelza, and a vampire, Uliana, who were joined together by a shared ethos regarding demons, and being at the right place at the right time. There’s mysteries and monsters, all the sapphic yearning to make my little queer heart happy, and wit for days.

I literally don’t know what else to say without giving anything away. It’s 25 pages long and from the moment it starts, you’re in the middle of the story. It’s almost like being a dream - you don’t know how they got there, really, but you’re happy to go along for the ride.

I desperately hope there will be more stories involving Demelza and Uliana soon. I could honestly invest myself in an entire series about the politics of the supernatural world they live in, their relationship and how it developed, and the demons they dispatch.
